Pathways to Inclusion Initiative
The Pathways for Inclusion Initiative was unveiled during the ULI Spring Meeting in Detroit in May of 2018. The initiative is made possible with generous support from the ULI Robert C. Larson Center for Leadership, the Kresge Foundation, The Knight Foundation, the Skillman Foundation, the William Davidson Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan. The objective of the initiative is to broaden ULI membership and to create a program that gives a platform to minority developers and land use professionals. We believe that by lowering the barriers to entry and diversifying our membership we can better fulfill our organization’s mission to creating and sustaining thriving communities. Participants in the program receive registration to ULI events as well as a one-year membership to the Urban Land Institute.
ULI Michigan is excited to announce that recently we have instated a Pathways to Inclusion Steering Committee. The committee works with ULI Michigan leadership to create opportunity and elevate minority members within our organization and community. Chaired by Karen Burton and Kishon Harbert, the Pathways to Inclusion group will focus their efforts on diversity and inclusion in all parts of ULI programming and leadership.
