Join the Young Leaders Group of ULI Michigan for an evening of networking, mentorship, and fine dining at the 17th Annual View From the Top Dinner. Taking place on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at Supergeil from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, this event promises to be an enriching experience for young professionals in the real estate and land use industry.
The event kicks off with a cocktails and networking session, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect with fellow Young Leaders and Student members of ULI Michigan. This informal gathering sets the stage for an evening of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
As dinner commences, guests will be seated at tables alongside a Mentor, who brings a wealth of industry experience and insights to the table. Over the course of three delectable courses, Mentors will engage in discussions, answer questions, and offer their unique perspectives from their positions at the "top" of the industry.
What sets this dinner apart is the rotation of Mentors with each course. This innovative format ensures that Young Leaders have the chance to interact with three different Mentors throughout the meal, broadening their perspectives and forging valuable connections. We will be joined by Michael Poris (McIntosh Poris Architects), Andrew Gutman (Farbman Group), Drew Sorenson (Wolverine Building Group), and Brittney Hoszkiw (City of Detroit), as well as others. YLG members are currently curating an excellent roster of mentors to join us, we will make updates as confirmed!
A prix fixe dinner menu is included with registration, and attendees will be contacted prior to the event to make their menu selections.

Michael Poris, AIA, is founding principal of McIntosh Poris Associates, a full-service architecture, interior and urban design practice in Birmingham, MI. Since returning to Detroit in 1995, Michael has been working to implement change in his hometown preserving many of Detroit’s 20th-century landmark buildings, historic districts, and iconic neighborhoods. Michael's design leadership has contributed to Detroit's transformation with projects such as the Foundation Hotel, the East Riverfront framework and Greektown framework plans. His work has won over 120 design awards including 30 AIA Honor awards, 70 Detroit Design Awards and a ULI Global award for excellence. He has been published in over 100 publications worldwide including Dwell, Urban Land, and Architectural Record. Michael is currently working on an adaptive reuse of the Fisher Body plant in Detroit, 600 prefabricated home community in Colorado, and 450 apartments in Ann Arbor. Michael was recently awarded the AIA Detroit Charles Blessing award recognizing an individual who shows leadership in planning and civic issues and exemplifies the vision, commitment and the accomplishments of Charles A.
