We are excited to announce the upcoming Developer & Designer Roundtable series hosted by The City of Detroit’s Housing Revitalization Department (HRD), ULI Michigan, and The Kelsey. Join us for a series of engaging discussions on the current state of accessible housing in Detroit for residents with disabilities.

It’s estimated that less than 6% of the available US housing stock is accessible to people with mobility or sensory disabilities; however 1 in 5 Detroiters live with a disability. Developers who intentionally integrate accessibility features and disability inclusion into their projects can mitigate risk, lower costs, and design a better experience for all residents.

Your participation matters. We need to hear your perspectives on the tools and policy interventions that would be most effective to increase the regional stock of accessible housing. Sharing your expertise at this roundtable is crucial to collectively address and shape the approaches to accessible and inclusive housing development. Your participation will greatly help The City of Detroit shape the resources available to promote accessible housing. To allow for the most candor in conversation all responses will be kept anonymous and HRD will not be in attendance. Those who work in housing development, design and construction are invited.
