In Dearborn, Michigan, a once bustling commercial block has fallen on tough times. The Wagner Hotel block in the West Downtown District suffered multiple vacancies and a fire during the last economic recession–and has been struggling to rebuild since. Stephen Ross, the chairman and founder of New York City-based The Related Cos. and a University of Michigan graduate, will be one of the speakers at the 30th annual UM/ULI Real Estate Forum that will take place Nov. 17-19 in Detroit and Ann Arbor. Among the other speakers will be Tom Wilson, the president and CEO of the Ilitch family’s Olympia Entertainment; and Jeff Blau, another UM graduate who is CEO and partner of Ross’ The Related Cos.
